A graduate of the Royal Academy of Music, Tom is a London based jazz & commercial trumpet player, composer and arranger with experiences in a variety of musical areas, from small group jazz and Big Bands, to Pop work and Musicals, and has performed across the world.
Tom has performed with groups such as the BBC Big Band, The Syd Lawrence Orchestra, The London Jazz Orchestra, Alex Mendham & His Orchestra, the Big Shake Up, Nim Quartet and the BeeKays.
Artists Tom has performed with include: Alfie Boe, Gary Barlow, Paloma Faith, Jack Pack, Ann-Marie, Gregory Porter, Norma Winstone, Gareth Malone, and has also performed for: Thomas Newman and Quincy Jones.
Tom has also performed with such musicians as: Chuck Findley, Bobby Shew, James Morrison, Jiggs Whigham, Nigel Nitchcock, Pee Wee Ellis, and Gwilym Simcock.
Before studying at the Academy on the Jazz degree course, Tom previously studied there on the Junior Jazz course and also at the Purcell School, where in his last term he directed the Purcell School Big Band. Tom has studied under Nick Smart, Mike Lovatt, Bobby Shew, Steve Waterman, Tony Cross, Gareth Lockrane, Simon Colom, Pete Churchill and Barak Schmool.
Some memorable moments for Tom include: Portraying a "young Derek Watkins" at the “Derek Watkins Memorial Concert”, being a past member of the National Youth Jazz Orchestra, playing 1st trumpet on the show "Ultimate Broadway" in Shanghai, performing for The Queen of England at "The Queens Birthday Party", and being lucky enough to learn from so many amazing musicians.
